Mengku Da Ye Large Leaf Ripe Puerh
This ripe pu-erh is named for the large-leaf Mengku tea material used to make it. Ripe pu-erh undergoes post-fermentation, creating a dark, smooth cup.
How to brew
- Tea: 2.5 g of dry tea per 8 fl oz (240 ml) of water
- Water temperature: 212°F (100°C)
- Steep time: 3–5 minutes, then strain or remove the tea bag.
- Cups per ounce: Approximately 11 cups per ounce (28.35 g), using 2.5 g per 8-fl-oz cup. This estimate counts the first infusion only.
Start with this guide and adjust to taste. A larger mug or stronger brew uses more tea and makes fewer cups per ounce.

Blueberry & Maple Chilled Tea Fruit Soup with Mengku Da Ye Large Leaf Ripe Puerh

Ingredients
- 2.5 g Mengku Da Ye Large Leaf Ripe Puerh
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups blueberries
- 2 teaspoons pure maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons Maple Sugar
- ¼ cup unsweetened apple juice
Method
- Heat 1 cup water to 212°F. Steep the Mengku Da Ye Large Leaf Ripe Puerh for 3–5 minutes, then strain or remove the tea bag.
- Dissolve the sugar in the tea and refrigerate until cold.
- Blend the tea, half the fruit, apple juice and maple syrup until smooth. Divide into two bowls and scatter the remaining fruit over the top. Serve chilled.
