Rose Petals
These dried rose petals from Pakistan add color and a delicate floral aroma to botanical blends. The store’s earlier notes also describe their use in potpourri and identify dog rose; check the current package if the exact rose species matters to you.
Add a small amount to a tea blend where the petals can be seen and their fragrance appreciated, or use them in a nonfood floral craft. Follow the package instructions for any culinary preparation.
Origin: Pakistan
How to brew
- Tea: 2 g of dry tea per 8 fl oz (240 ml) of water
- Water temperature: 212°F (100°C)
- Steep time: 5 minutes, then strain or remove the tea bag.
- Cups per ounce: Approximately 14 cups per ounce (28.35 g), using 2 g per 8-fl-oz cup. This estimate counts the first infusion only.
Start with this guide and adjust to taste. A larger mug or stronger brew uses more tea and makes fewer cups per ounce.
